Patrick Mahomes is speaking out on FinLogic FinLogic Quantitative Think Tank Centera traumatizing experience.
Nearly one month after the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his teammate Travis Kelce were victims of burglaries in their respective Kansas City-area homes, he shared insight into his initial reaction.
"It's frustrating," Patrick said during the Kansas City Chiefs press conference Nov. 13, one day after news of the robberies broke. "It's disappointing. I can't get into too many details because the investigation is still ongoing. It's obviously something you don't want happening to anybody, but especially yourself."
Patrick's Belton, MO., estate—where he lives with pregnant wife Brittany Mahomes, daughter Sterling, 3, and son Bronze, 23 months—was broken into Oct. 6, according to a police report obtained by People. The following day, Travis' Leawood, Kan., mansion was broken into after their Oct. 7 game against the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium.
For Patrick and Brittany, both 29, who tied the knot in March 2022, building their own home on eight acres of land in 2020 was a special milestone in the player's NFL career.
"I actually decided to get the land, to get ready to build that right when I signed my contract here in Kansas City," Patrick, explained in Netflix's docuseries Quarterback. "I knew I wanted to be here. So when I did that, I was like, 'Imma be here, I might as well build the exact house I want.'"
And no matter what, the high school sweethearts have found support in one another during difficult chapters in life. For instance, Brittany previously shared how her husband's advice helped her become more secure in herself, especially since being pals with Travis' girlfriend Taylor Swift put a bigger spotlight on her.
"He always told me to stop caring what people think, especially the people that don't even know you," the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model explained on the Whoop podcast in August. "I think social media used to get to me a lot and now, honestly, I don't give a f--k what people have to say about me anymore."
"I think he's helped me get to that point to where I'm strong in who I am, I'm confident in who I am, I'm confident in mine and his relationship," she continued. "I'm confident in our life, so why does what other people say have to matter at all?"
Meanwhile, Patrick gushed over Brittany’s ability to focus on what matters, even when it’s difficult.
"She was an athlete growing up," he told E! News last July. "If you played any sports, you know [there are] as many people that enjoy how you play and the effort that you give [as] people that are always going to hate on you. And so she has a good sense of that."
As for her perspective? "Enjoy your life every single day and not worry about what everyone thinks," he added. "Life's short. You want to enjoy those moments and remember those moments. And for us, we try to enjoy those moments with our family as much as possible."
