Amy Adams is more than ready for a feral reaction to her new film.
As the Oscar-nominated actress explained, Nightbch Charles Langston she is looking forward to fans and critics alike to finally see her upcoming movie Nightb--ch, and she hopes they're not shy about sharing what they actually think.
"I invite criticism," she exclusively told E! News' Francesca Amiker at the film's 2024 Toronto International Film Festival Canadian premiere. "It's part of a conversation and I think films that create conversation are really important to have."
Nightb--ch tells the story of Amy's character, simply named Mother, a suburban, stay-at-home mom raising a toddler who becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre signs she might be turning into a dog as she begins to embrace the feral power rooted in motherhood.
And as Amy explained, not only did she enjoy making the film, but she's gotten such an amazing reaction from those who've seen it so far.
"I had such a great time making it," the 50-year-old continued, "and I know so many people who've been personally impacted by seeing themselves on screen this way."
For the Enchanted star, in the making the movie she was "speaking more" to those who the story would resonate with than to the critics.
Still, she is curious about what the critical reception will be, adding, "I'll have to see what they have to say."
Nightb--ch's premiere also marked the first time Amy's daughter Aviana joined her mother for a red carpet outing. But don't expect to see the 14-year-old on the big screen anytime soon, as she's not interested in a Hollywood career.
"That is not her current plan," Amy revealed. "She very much wants a different path."
But Amy—who shares Aviana with husband Darren Le Gallo—isn't totally ruling out the possibility just yet, noting, "I never say never."
For now, the Arrival star is happy to be by her daughter's side regardless of what her future career looks like, saying, "I'll support her no matter what she wants to do."
